In response to post quota milk growth projections, our client is constructing a new state-of-the-art processing facility.
The client requested MDR to project manage their ‘organisational response’ to this new facility, and other processes impacted by the expected volume growth. This includes identifying and ensuring plans are defined and implemented to address new organisational roles and structures, planning and forecasting, milk collection, processing, storage/distribution, commercial interfaces and regulatory issues.
Our role also includes overseeing the effective commissioning and validation of the new facility to ensure an efficient and effective start up.
This project is ongoing.
ROI Drinks Group
We were tasked by our client to project manage the integration of three divisional standalone logistics processes into a shared, streamlined structure. This included the design and commissioning of a new WMS enabled central distribution facility, developing revised operational standards and budgets, plus the tendering of new regional bulk wholesale and retail delivery routes. In addition we also assisted in defining revised management structures and associated role profiles.
The project was delivered successfully over a 12 month period without any customer service or IR disruption.
ROI Multi Business
We were requested to facilitate and project manage a joint evaluation by two major Irish food processors of a collaborative manufacturing initiative. This envisaged significant rationalisation of processing facilities of both organisations, through the single source manufacture of common products.
Our role entailed coordinating and leading a number of cross organisational teams to define and evaluate the business case and implications – we also chaired the joint Steering Group overseeing the initiative.
The final proposal was ultimately approved by the respective boards and subsequently implemented.
